Caroline and John Wise are the two people featured throughout the course of this blog; we’ve been taking digital images of our travels for over 23 years. In that time, we’ve left home in the Phoenix, Arizona area, usually together but on occasion going solo no less than 300 times for various lengths of vacations, weekend getaways, and day trips. Out of curiosity, I decided to grab one photo from each day we were out on the road: an image to demonstrate something that stood out for it to represent that travel day. When possible, those days will feature a link to a blog post with other photos and a narrative when they exist.
We didn’t understand in our early travels how important this lengthy online document would become to us and from that lack of comprehension, we were not consistent in taking photos or notes. So, some line items below won’t have a link or photo for that reason, though this is still a work in progress.
Although I’ve broken these index pages into 5-year chunks, they are quite heavy to load; my apologies. Regarding image quality, when we started with digital cameras in the late summer of 1999, our first camera shot 1.2 megapixels (MP) photos. Over the year we upgraded to 3MP, 5MP, 8MP, 12MP, 18MP, and currently shoot 24 MP.
