Thanksgiving

A Tofurky and vegetables ready to be put in the oven

That’s right, today was Thanksgiving at the Wises. And as we are late celebrating this traditional American holiday, why not go all the way and make it as unconventional as possible. We broke out that old Tofurky we bought way back when, letting it thaw the recommended 24 hours before popping it in the oven for 2 long hours. I was salivating up a monsoon by the time it was ready. You’ve gotta be asking yourself, hey, just what does a Tofurky taste like? Well, now I know and I suppose I’ll tell you a bit more, but you will have to visit my other site www.happybumblebee.com to learn the details.

  1. To my taste buds, this is very similar to seitan, which I make about once a month. You would love my almond-cocodate nutshakes too, blend 1/3 part almonds to 2/3 filtered water, strain through muslin cloth, rinse blender, poor it back and fresh coconut water & medjool dates and blend a long time, then chill. Yum. Ooh and how about a the famous "yummy sandwhich"? All vegan and nobody else is making this faux-pate. Have you had a mamey? There are many varieties yet there is one in particular native to central America ABRICOT-PAYS (Mammea americana L. ) you best get hold of, you won’t believe how delecious it is, even better than cherimoyas if you would compare apples to oranges…
